On a press conference Friday morning Vert-Veritas presented their rather unusual strategy for the upcoming election. Andrea Ruiz, leader of the party stated that “The environment should be incorporated in the minds of everyone at the parliament.” Her party is focusing on topics such as recycling, energy and endangered species. Their former candidate for Prime Minister, James La Vela, is now the party’s secretary. VV stated that they do not seek power through major positions in the government or by forming coalitions with other parties. They simply just want to raise the awareness of the environment. Ruiz denied suggestions that VV is in a critical position. “We are not a weaker party because of our decision, the environment is important, and we promise a further explanation in an upcoming press release.”
